Welcome
Introductions
Hello all!
I'm the owner, designer, maintainer, etc of oldsmobilecentral.com. I've had forums in the past on this website, whichwere all 3rd party software that you can install into your site. They were great and had tons of features. However, since they were so popular to the public, they were easily targetted for spam, fake users, and a bunch of other headaches.
I took it upon myself to go ahead and see if I can just make my own custom forum. I could have the features and look that I exactly wanted (assuming I could code it). The other benifit would be there shouldn't be automatted software out there to know how to make automated post about viagra! Below are some of the highlights of the forums.
It's simple
Right now it is super basic. Not many places to get confused on or anything like that. Want to make a post? Just start a new thread. Want to reply? Just post on the reply button and type away. Not much extra stuff to get you lost.
Posting pictures is actually easy!
Most forums I go to ALWAYS have people lost on how to add pictures. Here, you can actually just drag the photo you want to add right to the input text box. There is also a little picture icon you can click to select what you want. From there, we will automatically upload it, resize it, and embed it to your post. Its almost like magic.
So here it is. The brand new OldsmobileCentral.com forum. Use this place to discuss anything you like, but of course, mainly about Oldsmobile ;-). If you see any problems or would like to see more features, feel free to email me or even post in the appropiate forum sections.
Enjoy!
Hello joffrol I am Neil and I am currently doing a ground up frame off restoration on a 69 Delta 88 Royale and after 6 years I am almost ready to put it back together.
I have hadthe car painted in the original Aztec Gold but in a basecoat/clearcoat hardener and that was a trial in itself as ppg in the states were able to come up with the formula transferring that into the same formula iin Australia took nearly 6 months because ppg tint codes are different between Aus and Us OK I am starting to rant glad to be a member

Start a restoration thread and post some pictures. You can never go wrong with Gold with these classic cars.
Good morning Joffroi. Really good website. I go by 71rocket on another site, need to change it. Love your ride.

everyone love the pics they are just wondering who you are. Could you introduce yourself in the welcome section Dean
I am nobody. Just a life long Oldsmobile fan. I\'m nothing in the racing world that\'s for sure. I\'ve about 10 or so 69-72 Cutlasses and Vistas that I raced but ultimately I am nobody. Got a four year old son and had to sellall my Oldsmobile junk with the last car being sold inMay 2013. I currently drive a 2004 Toyota Camry. I spoke with Jack Troxell over the phone a few years back and sent him some pictures of his former cars to him and he thought I was from a magazine. I was approached via email by Troxells son who was putting together a drag racing collage for his father\'s birthday which was in December. I love the nostaglic race pictures of the Oldsmobiles. I love nostalgic Oldsmobile pictures that freeze the cars in that time. We can restore the old cars but we can\'t quite get them to look like they looked then. Also its neat to see how Dale Smith put together a formidable Oldsmobile racing army that won the 71-72 manufacturer\'s cup. My dad had a 65 F-85 convertible new. White with red interior. Originally a white top but hail damage forced him to change it to a black top. My biological mother told me I was conceived in that65 Olds. In late 69 he traded his 65 for a 70 442 sherwood green with a black vinyl top, dark green interior, standard green plastic steering wheel or whatever they made those steering wheels of that crack all to pieces. Not a W-30 but he ordered the glass hood. My dad wasn\'t a racer, he just could deal with the local Olds dealers and wanted a cars that would attract women. After this phase passedhe tra ded the 70 442for a 72 Ford Pickup. He returned to Olds in 1975 with a Cutlass Supreme that became my first car in 1983. But dad brought home a 72 Cutlass 4dr town sedan with a 350 2bbl that ran circles around the 75 Cutlass so I had to have that car. Had about 3 70-72 4door Cutlasses. About 3 69-72 Vista Cruisers, a 69 Cutlass Cruiser, a 72 Supreme, a rough 71 SX with an incorrect 67 425 engine, and 71 442. All of which are now out of my possession or gone. I do thank you Dean for inviting me over here. Feel free to cut and paste this on the welcome section if you wish and tell them I am nobody.
Joined up... still using 83hurstguy for now, I probably should work on changing the '83' to '68' one of these days, but that's a lot of places to make the change.

Welcome to OC. 83hurstguy above just sold his about 6 months ago a joined us old guys by getting a 68 H/O. The For Sale section here is excellent. Keep looking here and on Craigslist. There are plenty out there and they are just beginning to appreciate in value. It's a great time to get into a G-Body Olds.
Hi Joffroi, I've seen your name/posts for many years at CO. I joined recently followingsome communication with Dean dnmfrancoafter his "Ongoing Issue" thread at CO, and he suggested I start coming to Oldsmobile Central on a more regular basis. Also, I see Mike allyolds68 who I've communicated with at times during the restoration of my Olds. I'm looking forward to this participating in this positive forum. By the way, I have a 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass S Convertible with the numbers matching engine and muncie M-21. It is 99.9% finished after a 4 year restoration.
welcome Jeff, car looks great. Jeff is the color Saffron w black trim?
