Cowl Tag decode
Here is how your body tag decodes:
12B Build date code the second week of December 1965
(66) Model year (33867) Cutlass Convertible (LAN) Lansing, MI manufacturing plant (2431) Assembly sequence # (the 1,430 body)

(E2KX) Group 1 E Tinted Glass Group 2 K Air Conditioning X Column Shift
(5V) 442 Trim
The last code 5V indicates this car is a 442. This means that if it has the original engine it should be a 400 CI 350 HP and was painted Bronze. There is a casting number between the top of the water pump and the intake manifold left of the oil pressure switch. for a '66 400 CI it should read 390925. A 66 330 CI 320 HP casting number would be 381917. If the number is not either one of these then give me that number and I can tell you what it is. The production for 1966 Olds Cutlass convertibles was 12,154. They did not break out the 442 cars in '66 so there is not a production number available but I can tell you not many were produced. 442's were not a separate model until 1968. All 442's were made in Lansing MI.
