The car is 100% rust free restoration performed in 2007. The body was removed from the frame, media blasted, patched where necessary, and electro-coated before being painted white with black stripes (Quality First Paint and Body, Brandon MS). The car has its original bumpers (rechromed at Knox Custom Chrome, Knoxville TN), and original gauges (featuring a Tic-Toc-Tack), as well as a 4-speed console and non-AC dash from another '69 donor car. It features a 455 cid Olds big block (built by Jackson Cylinder Head, Jackson, MS) that produces and estimated 500 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. That power is fed through a GM TKO 500 5 speed overdrive transmission (Keisler Engineering, now Silver Sport Transmission). Final drive is a Richmond 3.40 Positrac housed in a 12 bolt rear (installed by Jackson Powertrain, Flowood MS). The car has front and rear disc brakes with new Inline Tube brake lines, MOOG single rate springs, and KYB shocks. It sits on GM Superstock II's with B.F. Goodrich Radial TA tires.
The interior is all black with new vinyl over original seat frames (Randy's Upholstry, Jackson MS) and loop pile carpet. It is in excellent condition. The original radio is present, but currently nonoperational. It is a non-AC car. There is an aftermarket heater installed under the dash that is plumbed but not wired.
This 442 has been sparingly driven since its resto, and always garaged. It is not, however, without imperfections. The following is a list of issues that could be addressed:
- 3 minor paint imperfections
- Driver door window roller is stripped out
- Glove box door has poor fitment
- The clock in the Tic-Toc-Tach is non-operational
- Dummy light indicating "Hot" stays lit (car does NOT overheat)
- Poor brake performance
I have receipts and documentations to accompany all parts and labor as well as additional pictures taken throughout the restoration process. Included with the sale are the chrome trim rings for the wheels, and various spare and extra parts accrued throughout restoration and ownership. The car is located in Madison MS (a suburb of Jackson). Please email (robertmay442@gmail.com) me with any questions, or to arrange to see the car.
