We’re sorry but while this car may still be available, this ad had expired.

For sale by owner, with my clear Oregon title in hand.

The information on this car was provided to me by the previous owner who owned it for several years, and, also by having it checked out by a local auto restoration shop after I purchased it last year.

1970 Oldsmobile 442. VIN is 344870Z125xxx.
The "44" in the VIN verifies this is a REAL 442. It has the Factory correct 455-V8 (365-hp).
The engine casting # reads 396021 F. The heads # reads 403686, the carburetor # reads 7040253, (Rochester Q-jet).

The other Factory options are as follows,

M-21 close ratio 4-speed transmission with the Hurst shifter, Bucket seats, Power steering, Power disc brakes (very rare on 4-speed cars), Sport steering wheel, Gauges, Tic-Toc-Tachometer, Sonomatic AM radio, Remote control drivers door mirror, Map light in rear-view mirror, 14-inch Rally wheels, 12-bolt Posi-traction rear axle with the 3.42 gear ratio. The odometer shows about 74,800 which according to the previous owner IS the correct mileage. I also have the Factory build sheet, although it's very deteriorated.

The car was originally Gold with a black vinyl top. One of the previous owners paid thousands of dollars to have it taken down to bare metal & repainted the reddish/orange color it is now, to resemble a 442 shown in one of the original ads for them from 1970 (see picture). He obviously chose to not have a vinyl top put back on, but the new owner can do so if they want. Aside from the paint color change & vinyl top, the rest of the car seems to be all original, and is a very solid, rust free car that needless to say get's attention & complements when ever people see it! The headliner is beginning to sag a little, but otherwise the rest of the interior still looks nice & clean. The car is powerful & runs strong like a good big block should, and is very fun to drive!

It's not perfect, not a show car, but it is pretty much in excellent overall condition. The current NADA values (when you add on for the 365-hp motor & 4-speed transmission) are as follows,, LOW is $25,500,, AVERAGE is $37,750,, HIGH is $61,000. As described the car is much better than "Average", but does lose some value with the non-original paint color (even though it's a beautiful car). It's being offered on a first come, first serve basis. I'll sell to the first one who shows up in person for $25,000 Firm. I'm not interested in any offers.

I'm also not really interested in any trades, but, I also realize not everyone who is interested in buying my car has the $25K available to spend, so I might possibly consider a 1960 - 1972 Chevy or GMC pickup, Carryall, Suburban or Blazer, or, maybe a 1973 - 1991 K/5 Blazer or Suburban in part trade,, or perhaps a '67, '68, '69 Camaro, '65, '66 Mustang, or even a C3 Corvette, but you would need to offer lots of money with it. NO straight across trades!

Payment needs to be made at my Bank in person, in CASH, or, if you also have an account at Pacific Continental Bank or NWCU, you can simply transfer the funds from your account into mine upon seeing my car in person. NO checks!! Shown by appointment only! I'm willing to meet at my Bank or local Police Station for a secure location if you're bringing cash.

Please also be advised, the current Oregon license plates are NOT included with the car,, so if you're not an Oregon resident who can go to the local DMV to transfer the title & get new plates, you will need to have it transported home on your own car trailer, or you can hire one of the local towing companies to deliver it to your location on one of their flatbed tow trucks.

NO PHONE CALLS and/or "over the phone" deals, and NO 'long distance" deals! In order to buy my car,, you need to come SEE it in person & talk with me in person! If you want to set up a time to come see my car, please just send me an E-MAIL message, and then please check your E-MAIL for my reply. Thank you.
