1970 Cutlass SX, 455 ci engine: This rare SX is a numbers matching NC car that has undergone a modified frame-on restoration. Part of the original build sheet was located during the restoration validating its authenticity. Over $45k invested. Burnished gold ext with black interior, original motor w/ new timing chain, rear-seal, rebuilt Turbo 400, new chrome trim, all new window glass, bushings, springs, shocks, disc brakes, underneath of car & trunk is detailed. New interior including seat springs/foam. Buckets seats w/ center console. Factory correct functional ram hood added (from Thornton Industries). New front & rear bumpers. Many muscle car enthusiasts are not aware of the Cutlass SX. It was a special option called the Y79 Performance Package only available in 1970 and 1971. This package included a 455ci engine, a Turbo 400 transmission, a cut out rear bumper with dual exhaust, special SX badges on the fenders and other features not found on a standard Cutlass Supreme. This unmolested, matching numbers engine fires right up and runs smooth. The factory correct W-Z, high performance exhaust manifolds are connected to a Flow-Master exhaust system that has a mean rumble. The big-block engine produces 365HP and 510lbs of torque. The production numbers for this model are less than half of the collectable Oldsmobile 442 models and the SX value will continue to increase. $26,900.
