Oldsmobile 442
This outstanding 442 is being offered from a private collection in Scottsdale Arizona, where it has been owned for 20 years.
The car has the honor of being selected for the cover of Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine in March 2021.
Within the magazine, it contains a great article of this amazing machine, with a terrific breakdown of its no expense spared mechanical upgrade and attributes.
It is a real W–29 442 with its original broadcast card in place. The car has undergone an extensive restoration and the professional build work has been performed to a very high-level throughout. The all original sheet metal body is extremely straight and solid, and the paint work is beautiful, utilizing high grade Ditzler PPG product.
The car has been driven approximately 2500 miles since its completion and below is a list of the components chosen during the build to make this car an outstanding muscle machine with beauty and solid drivable performance.
The engine was custom built by Brad Wise of Wise Performance Engineering in North Carolina, utilizing a forged steel crank, Ross forged pistons, Edelbrock custom aluminum cylinder heads, Crower billet rods,
Manley valves and Lunati roller camshaft with roller rockers.
This combination runs 9.9 :1 compression ratio and produces an impressive 516 hp with 550 foot pounds of torque.
The suspension is a stage 5+ UMI front and rear fully adjustable coil over set up with adjustable rear trailing arms.
The rear end of choice is a Ford 9 inch with Eaton true track differential components running a 3.50:1 gear ratio with 35 spline axles.
The brake set up is from Willwood and features 13 inch front rotors with six piston calipers and the rear set up is 12 inch rotors with four piston calipers. It is shod with 17" US MAG Super Stock 1 aluminum wheels with Nitro tires.
The transmission is pro built by Hughes transmissions and features and additional Gear Vendors under/overdrive unit. Further items included in this high-level build would be a March serpentine belt set up, Ron Davis aluminum radiator with dual spall fans, Vintage air system , Hooker headers with Flowmaster mufflers and a Dakota digital gauge upgrade.
