1968 442 GT Stripe

I know my 442 had the GT stripe out of the factory and it seems not many people know about it for the 68s. An ad was recently posted and it looks like this has a good example of the black GT stripe. I wanted to post it for reference.
Was this painted or stenciled? What would be the best way for me to add that to my car?

Here are a couple more pictures of 68s that have had them.
Possibly original:
Done after a restoration because the owner saw where they were suppose to be in the original paint.
The strip has been reported to be somewhere between 3/16" - 5/16" (differs by plant)and about 5/16" from the chrome.
My 68 came with it out of the factory (can tell from the cowl tag) and I recently added it.
