Toro Resto Finish
Restorations Projects
Hopefully going to drop the motor and trans in the Toro tomorrow. If not, Saturday. I'm going to take pics of the whole install. Interior too. Wet sand to get the orange peel out and it should be worth around 25k. I'm keeping it so I really don't care so much.
Motor is in as well as the trans. Interior is done. The car is THAT close! I can't wait!
Trying to get into the place to work on the car and the guy won't let me. I don't know what to do. Sent him 7 texts today and last night. he finally answered. Said he was ill. I am too. Sick of waiting.

hahahaha. I know the situation isn't funny, but I still had to chuckle a little.
I was wondering if you could help me get my;
1. Office furniture; Desk, couches, curio cabinet.
2. Corvette
3. Cutlass.
4. Toronado (perhaps on a flatbed).
out of that GOD forsaken garage and into my new place. Come on, it's only a plane flight and a few hundred bucks!
Here's a new one. I hired a floor cleaner/refinisher to seal the floor in the new place. They were supposed to give me an estimate last Thursday. So far no estimate, only excuses as to why they haven't. I'm going to contact them today and ask them what's going on. Should be fun.
Fired the floor sealer guys. I'll do it myself and save 500 bucks. Had the second guy call me back and give me advice on how to do it. He said to not even clean the floor. Said the grit will add to the adhesion and provide some traction to the floor as opposed to a wet perfect concrete floor. You all know how damned slippery that is. Nice guy. Thanked him for his time. He basically talked me out of having it done, to doing it myself.
So I went Friday and coated the floor myself. Took 2 hours and cost me maybe 100 bucks instead of 1100. Looks good. Pics when I get 'em. You all are welcome to stop in anytime I'm there. Nick, it's 8 minutes from 66.
So, long story long. I called the guy today and said I was coming for the car tomorrow come hell or high water. He said, "Wait! Can't I have until Tuesday? I need to get the parts together etc. I said I am coming with a flatbed if the car won't move under its own power. Fuck it! I'm done. He texted and said the car would be ready at 4pm. I asked if I would need a flatbed. He said he wouldn't know until tomorrow. Fuck it. I'm done. It's going into my new place done or not. I've already lined up a guy to finish it as he knows these cars inside and out. Sooooo tired of the drama. It ends tomorrow. I will report back. This should be fun because if he gets shitty with me I may have to open the can of whoop ass. He doesn't want that. He is coming up on the third anniversary ofpromising the car would be done. Yes, that's May of 2013!!!!! What a douche. But, who's the fool here? That's right, me.
Almost three years and not sure if you need a flatbed to pick it up. That's rough
Flatbed needed. I told him to stop working on it. Lol! Working! He convinced me to give him the weekend and then didn't touch it. Said it was because he was not feeling well. Now I have to wait until next Saturday to move it.
Went today to pick up the seats seeing as I had really nothing going on. The friggin commuter train was at least an hour late. I haven't put in 29 years to not be able to walk away if I want to. I walked back to my car afterthe trainwas 25 minutes late.In the sleet and snow I headed back home to a nice cup of coffee. Screw it. I heard the trainhorn a half hour later. So anyway, I go to the interior shop and get to talking to the manager. He says, "What happened?" I told him the long and short of it. He said he had a shop who could finish the car. Got me on the phone with the shop and they are picking it up on March 14th. It may be done by the end of the month. Just some minor but above my head problems to sort out. Getting excited thinking about actually having this thing in the stable, running. I hope I'm not Charlie Brown with the football again. Say a prayer for me. But not about the car. For my salvation!
Dynamat in. Tomorrow night, hopefully get the carpet done. Maybe the seats in it too.
Looks good. But the real question is when you are planning on being able to enjoy it with a nice cruise done some roads?
Comparing tothe douche who was working on it (NOT) had it nearly three years, I'm making great strides. That long awaited first drive will be momentous! Finished the carpeting tonight and got the back seat half done. Exhaust, linkage, a helicoil bolt hole for the carb, and a few odds and ends andit should be on the road. He effed up the boot on one the half shafts. Tore it to pieces. How? Anyway, have a new one. I was going to have all this work done for me but I checked my budget and that was a no go! Sweat equity, plus it's cool to do it yourself. I'll post the updated pics when they load onto my cloud. It looks great. BTW, I'm selling my Vette if anyone is interested. It will be on epay in the next day or two. Looking for 25k. Very nice driver with a ton of power. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2x6lvmLNCrU Click onthe link or just go to youtube.com and search zzz281996. All my vids come up. Cool shit.
