You know, the funny thing is I love the guy doing my Toro. He does absolutely excellent work but takes FOREVER! We got together today and got a lot done. We are both hoping that next Sunday I will come and we'll put the hood on it and it will be finished. He's a good dude and I hate to diss him on this site but he deserves it. Sometimes my temper gets the best of me. I'll be showing this car this summer and it will blow people's minds. How many of these cars do you see at your local show. Yep, none. It looks like a spaceship landed!

I'm praying by the time I get back to Chicongo it will be drivable. Have a new cv shaft and the intake bolt hole has been helicoiled. Looking good, so far. I'll know tomorrow.

So, went to Fla for a week hoping and praying the car would be a driver by the time I got back. Not even close. I'm not even angry any more. This guy has just killed the joy out of this car for me. I think we are in the 28th month he's had it. the day it runs, it's out of there. I'll report back next Saturday to tell you all it's still not moving under it's own power.

I don't really know what to say except for... damn. I feel like they are just slowly ripping a bandaid off

Great analogy. Texted him four times last night to see if I could get in there and work on it. No reply as of yet. I'll have to finish it. It's close though so not a lot to do.

Man, what a car. I love those Toronado's, especially the '66.

I have a shop near me that is going to complete the Toronado. It doesn't need much done but the fine tuning will be in their hands. I expect it to be done by the end of March. Went tonight with a buddy to my warehouse and put the hood on and tidied up a couple of things to get it ready for transport. Also washed the daughters car and changed her oil. Then we pulled in his Caddy and washed it too. It's great to have space that's heated and all mine. After we were done we sat around, BSed and smoked a cigar. Good to be with a great friend. That, is what Hot Rodding and life in general is about.

The CV shaft was NOT replaced. The carb hole was NOT helicoiled. Who's the sucker? Yep, that would be me. Trust no one, rely on yourself.
